MV Agusta Sets Sights on Expansion With 350cc and 500cc Motorcycles

Four New Models by 2021

According to new reports MV Agusta has teamed up with the Chinese company Loncin to help them build four new motorcycles that fit into 350cc and 500cc categories. These motorcycles will be designed and developed by MV Agusta and then Loncin will handle production of the motorcycles.

If Loncin doesn’t sound familiar to you, that’s not super surprising. However, the company is known for its work. It has built BMW engines for years now, according to Morebikes. With that in mind, the company should have no problem handling the new mid-range motorcycles for MV Agusta. MV Agusta’s CEO Timur Sardarov said this of the partnership:

This strategic alliance is an important step in achieving our vision of the future of MV Agusta. Our goal is to consolidate our leadership in the production of super-premium motorcycles, while at the same time expanding our customer portfolio by offering a wider range without compromising on design and performance.

Make no mistake. Loncin is getting more than just a lot of work out of this deal. With MV’s help, the company will also seek to shake things up with motorcycles of its own. As for the four new mid-range motorcycles from MV, they’ll be focused on Asian markets first. Then, I suspect they’ll make their way to other markets if successful.

I’m actually interested to see what these bikes are like. Loncin made engines for BMW, so they have to be good. I think these MV Agusta bikes will be sweet, though I doubt they’ll come to the U.S.
