Retro-Modern Bikes Sell

Classic Legends revived Jawa in India to great fanfare, and that has translated to sales. The company announced in November 2020 that over the course of the last year, the company has sold 50,000 motorcycles, according to The Economic Times.

Early on, things were bumpy for the company in terms of production. Then the pandemic came and the company managed to power through and keep on chugging. Despite these challenges, the Classic Legends CEO seemed very pleased with the performance of the Jawa brand in the last year.

“As the newest entrant in the Indian motorcycle market, we are proud of what we have achieved in such a short duration. As a relatively recent start-up, Classic Legends has readied a full-scale production facility to support the three models that we introduced as a part of the resurrection of the Jawa brand, set up an unparalleled and widespread sales network; and have ramped up all our operations constantly to meet customer demands,” Classic Legends CEO Ashish Singh Joshi said in a statement.

He went on to say that Jawa expects the next 50,000 sales to come a little easier, and I hope he’s right. The pandemic is rearing its ugly head again in many parts of the world, but Jawa should be operating well now, having had a year to figure out production and whatnot. It will be interesting to see how things shape up for the brand in 2021.
