2021 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR SCS: The Streetfighter (SCS)

The MV Agusta Brutale line of motorcycles are considered naked motorcycles, but the Dragster takes a different approach with more of a streetfighter form factor and styling. The motorcycle is highly exotic looking and brings some stylistic elements into the mix that aren’t found in the Brutale. This bike still retains the same 798cc 140 horsepower engine that spans the entirety of the 800 RR lineup in 2021, although this model in specific comes with a quick-shifter. Everything else remains the same.

The Dragster is aggressive and far sharper than its close Brutale relatives. The motorcycles are still pretty similar and share much of the same DNA when it comes down to brass taxes, though. The rims on this bike have been swapped out for some beautiful wire-spoke wheels, but much of the tech remains the same across the entire Italian manufacturer’s lineup.

The “SCS” part of the name hints at the inclusion of MV Agusta’s Smart Clutch System 2.0; a quick-shifting system that allows for easy up and downshifting without the use of the clutch lever. As a result of this feature, no time will be lost when blasting through the gears on this bike with a spirited pull.

Along with the inclusion of the quickshifter, there are many other electronic aids to make riding a breeze. There are a total of eight fully adjustable traction control modes, Bosch ABS, ride-by-wire technology introduced this model year, and four rider modes.

The 2021 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR SCS starts at $23,440 USD / $19,490 EUR.

2021 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR SCS Features

Ultimate efficiency

The SCS 2.0 system allows a perfect match between the clutch action and the delivery curve of the three-cylinder engine. The support of highly sophisticated electronics has allowed MV engineers to unlock the secret to beating traditional-clutch models in acceleration performance.

Fluid, more intuitive ride

The SCS 2.0 system doesn’t really change the way the rider interacts with the motorcycle: the clutch control, shift and gears are still just where you’d expect to find them, but with the bonus option of simply deciding not to use the clutch. For extreme functionality, without sacrificing anything.

Power and control

A braking system worthy of the name and performance of the Dragster. Powerful and scalable, with two 320 mm-diameter floating discs and four-piston radial callipers, plus the assistance of the advanced Continental ABS with cornering function.
