The Brutale 1000 is the highest step possible on the proverbial ‘Brutale Ladder’. Its younger brothers emulate its extremely elegant yet brutish nature with the inclusion of a smaller inline-three engine. MV Agusta has made it very clear that this is the top of the ladder when it comes to their naked line of motorcycles in their 2021 lineup. The engineering department has taken an extra cylinder and slapped it onto the original blueprints for the smaller Brutale 800 and increased the total engine displacement to 998cc’s; producing 208 horsepower.
It’s fairly easy to make the case for the Brutale 1000 RR being one of the finest naked motorcycles available. Although Kawasaki’s Z H2’s engine has seen a lot of attention from their own respective design team, the Brutale 1000 RR brings what the Z H2 lacks; undeniable styling and attention to detail. Just look at it; the motorcycle quite literally looks like a bolt of lightning.
The engine on the Brutale 1000 RR still doesn’t cut any corners, though. The engine features titanium con rods, low-friction Asso piston rings and other wild engineering feats that were inspired by famous high-performance race series such as Formula 1 and MotoGP.
This bike still features the Italian brand’s state-of-the-art tech that you would find in their high-end bikes. All the sensors that you would expect in a $30k motorcycle are present, meaning customizing the feel of the motorcycle is limitless thanks to the full adjustability presented through the generous TFT display.
