The Vemar Jiano Flip-up Helmet
UPDATE: See the Vemar Jiano Review
February 19, 2008 – I took a quick look and a couple of photos of the new Vemar Jiano flip-up (modular) motorcycle helmet at the 2008 Dealer Expo (more…).
I don’t have much information other than what’s on the Motonation website.
But since then, we have published a complete Vemar Jiano Review.
We reviewed the Vemar VSR several years ago, but Vemar had some distribution problems in the U.S. market, (which isn’t unusual for a limited volume manufacturer).
But is now back and Motonation will be distributing the helmets and is selling them direct via their website.
In the meantime, here are some photos of the Vemar Jiano that I took at the show. The Jiano is available in limited colors: silver, matte black or gray and a small pattern.
It’s available in sizes from XXS to XXL in two shell sizes.
It has a few nice features, including a five year warranty; DOT and ECE 22.05 approval; a thermoplastic shell; metal pins and hooks for the flip-up visor; and it comes with both a 2.2 mm thick clear visor and a 2.2 mm thick tinted visor.
Vemar claims that the Jiano has a “mid oval” shape, which probably means it has a relatively neutral fit.
We hope to have more soon; in the meantime, here are a couple of photos:
