Triumph Gilds Their Classic Range With Bonneville Gold Line Editions

What happens when you put top-notch hand-painted detail with eight motorcycles in Triumph’s renowned Modern Classic range?

A whole lot of sexy – and we’re digging the gold vibes. 

The report from RoadRacingWorld states that Triumph’s all-new Gold Line Edition range will be available for one short year, with only 1000 units to be sold worldwide; after that, the ‘limited’ sets in, and you’re stuck waiting for the next pretty Triumph bike to come out (it’s not been long since the company revealed their Bond Edition Scrambler 1200 and Tiger 900 Rally Pro, and 2022 is just around the corner…so we’re expecting Triumph to deliver in spades, as per usual.)

The bikes will not only feature a gilded aesthetic but will also sport ‘enhanced capability and performance’ in the form of the following:

Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition

• Silver Ice fuel tank with Competition Green tank infill edged with hand-painted gold lining
• and elegant ‘gold line’ logo
• Silver Ice mudguards and side panels with Competition Greenside
• panel stripes, unique new white and gold Bonneville T100 logo, and hand-painted gold lining

The Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition features a punchy 900cc twin-engine and a high level of specification, including cartridge forks, Brembo front brake with ABS, torque-assist clutch and switchable traction control, and of course the additional 10PS peak power, for a total of 64hp @ 7,400rpm and peak torque of 59 lb-ft @ 3,750rpm.

Street Scrambler Gold Line Edition

• Matt Pacific Blue tank with Graphite stripe, gold Triumph tank logos, and elegant ‘gold line’ logo
• Hand-painted gold lining alongside the tank stripe and around the brushed foil knee pads

Powered by the latest generation Euro 5 compliant 900cc twin-engine, The Street Scrambler delivers 64hp peak power @ 7,250rpm and 59 lb-ft peak torque @ 3,250rpm. It also features high-specification cartridge forks and preload-adjustable twin rear shocks, wire-spoked wheels with Metzeler Tourance tires, and a Brembo front brake with switchable ABS.

Bonneville Speedmaster Gold Line Edition

The new Speedmaster Gold Line Edition is powered by the 1200cc High Torque Bonneville twin-engine, delivering 77HP peak power @ 6,100rpm and 78 lb-ft peak torque @ 4,000rpm. You’re also looking at 47mm Showa cartridge forks, pre-load adjustable hidden monoshock RSU, and twin Brembo front calipers, with the potential perk of the low 27.5 inch seat height.

Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition

The Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition features twin Brembo front brakes with ABS, high-specification Showa suspension, and a fat front wheel. It also comes ready to pack a punch with a High Torque 1200cc twin-engine (“with dedicated Bobber tune”), which delivers 77hp peak power @ 6,100rpm and 78 lb-ft peak torque @ 4,000rpm.

The Bonneville T120 Gold Line Edition shows off a torque-rich 1200cc twin performance, with 79hp peak power @ 6,550rpm and 77 lb-ft peak torque @ 3,500rpm. The balanced setup of this bike also features 41mm cartridge forks, preload-adjustable twin RSUs, and twin Brembo front calipers with ABS to deliver “a dynamic, agile and neutral ride.”

Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line Edition

• Matt Sapphire Black fuel tank, front and rear mudguards, headlight bowl, and side panels
• Matt Silver Ice fuel tank infill edged with hand-painted gold lining and elegant ‘gold line’ logo.

Like the Bonneville T120 Gold Line Edition, the Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line Edition features the same 1200cc twin boasting 79hp peak power @ 6,550rpm and 77 lb-ft peak torque @ 3,500rpm, along with the obligatory 41mm cartridge forks, preload-adjustable twin RSUs and twin Brembo front calipers with ABS.

Scrambler 1200 XC Gold Line Edition

• Carnival Red and Storm Grey fuel tank with Aluminum Silver stripe, brushed foil knee pads, hand-painted gold lining, and elegant ‘gold line’ logo.
• Jet Black side panel and headlight bowl

The Scrambler 1200 XC Gold Line Edition, like the XE, boasts a high-power 1200cc Bonneville twin engine featuring a power output of 89 horsepower and 81.1 lb-ft of peak torque. That power is kept in line by no less than five riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport, Off-road, and Rider-Configurable – along with Ride-by-Wire technology, ABS, and traction control.

Scrambler 1200 XE Gold Line Edition

• Baja Orange and Silver Ice fuel tank with Pure White stripe, brushed foil knee pads, hand-painted gold lining, and elegant ‘gold line’ logo.
• Jet Black side panel and headlight bowl

“Many of the new Gold Line Edition designs start with a two-color base scheme, where the joining point between the two colors is flattened down,” states the report.

“The gold line is then carefully hand-applied, usually in one continuous stroke by the artist, using a very specialized soft-bristled sword-liner brush. Once the pinstripe is in place, it’s sealed against the elements with a final clear coat of lacquer.”

“The paints used for the gold lining are specially formulated by mixing a powdered color with a cellulose lacquer for exactly the right consistency, as normal automotive paint is too thin for brushwork.”

“Just like every hand-lined Triumph, the artist adds the finishing detail to each Gold Line Edition by signing their work with their initials, providing a personal touch that makes every hand-painted Triumph special.”
