Touratech Aventuro Mod Preview

A Touratech Flip-up Dual-Sport Helmet

The Touratech “Aventuro Mod” dual-sport flip-up helmet was announced at the 2015 AIMExpo (reports)in Orlando, Florida.

The Aventuro Mod is Touratech’s version of the newSCHUBERTH E1 Adventure helmet (preview), also announced at the show.

Touratech partnered with SCHUBERTH to produce the helmet in a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Both the Aventuro Mod and the SCHUBERTH E1 are based on the SCHUBERTH C3 (review), so the internal shapes, sizing and fit should be very similar between each of these helmets.

As noted in the SCHUBERTH E1 preview, the world’s first dual-sport flip-up helmet was the Caberg Tourmax (review), first released in 2013.

Touratech had a prototype on display at the show and, like the E1 prototypes, the chin vent assembly, top vent and peak on the Aventuro Mod examples were 3D printed.

However, the Touratech Aventuro Mod yellow and black graphics looked nicer than the E1 graphics to my eyes. The Aventuro Mod pattern references the yellow, black and white graphics on the Touratech Aventuro helmet we reviewed.

The Aventuro Mod also has the dual-channel chin vent of the E1, with the upper half directing air through the top of the chin bar and the bottom vent moving air on to the rider’s face. A removable foam filter is included.

The peak has an interesting design; it can be set to one of 3 positions and it stays in that position when the rotating flip-up visor is moved.

The Touratech Aventuro Mod will be released in Spring 2016 with a list price of (gulp!) $829.00 for solid colors and $889.00 for graphics. Sizes range from XS to 3XL in two different shell sizes. We’ll have one for a review just as soon as the helmets are ready to go.

Here are just a few quick photos from the show and an edited version of the SCHUBERTH E1 press release follows:

Touratech Adventuro Mod

(October 15, 2015 – Press release edited by webBikeWorld.com)

Adventure riders around the world are going to flip over the new helmet introduced by Touratech at AIMExpo 2015.

The Aventuro Mod takes the old preconceptions of a modular helmet and confounds them, setting a new standard in versatility, comfort, and off-road capabilities.

Riders no longer have to choose between a touring helmet and a dual-sport lid because Touratech has introduced the perfect blend of each.

A joint effort between Touratech and legendary helmet manufacturer SCHUBERTH has created the Aventuro Mod, which combines the comfort and convenience of a flip-up chin bar with an adjustable peak and increased ventilation for off-road adventures.

The peak rotates back when the chin bar is up and then magically rebounds to the riders chosen position when the chin bar is closed. It’s German engineering at its finest.

Riders will see the road with clarity through “Class 1” optics provided with the anti-fog shield which can be propped open at 1, 2.5 and 4 settings to boost airflow in stop-and-go traffic or challenging terrain.

Adventurers will enjoy riding off into the sunset even more with the integrated sun visor that flips down with the flick of a finger.

With the launch of the amazing Touratech Aventuro helmet (review) in early 2015, Touratech raised the bar for adventure motorcycle helmets.

The Aventuro Mod builds on that success with an eye toward increased touring comfort and flip-up convenience, while retaining off-road features and aggressive Touratech-styling.

The Mod has a goggle-strap holder for those awesome days in the dirt and is set up for an integrated communication system.

This helmet is ultra-quiet, very comfortable, and available in 7 vibrant color schemes. It’s ready to ride every road, mountain, desert, and valley on the planet.

The Touratech Aventuro Mod is the ultimate adventure helmet and available for pre-order now, with delivery in Spring 2016.
