Motorcycle Gear & Product Reviews for Over 20 Years

A Focus On Real Reviews

At wBW we focus on motorcycle gear reviews, including reviews of motorcycle parts, tools, motorcycle apparel, protective gear, electronics and more. We have been reviewing motorcycle products for over 20 years and are the most reliable source of unbiased advice on which products to buy. This is the main index for webBikeWorld motorcycle product reviews.

With over 2,000 motorcycle accessory, clothing and product reviews online and over 5,000 pages in the site in total, it’s hard to keep everything categorized, so please use the webBikeWorld search function if you have trouble. There are also 170+ book reviews, 300+ helmet reviews, 35 video reviews, 120+ technical, maintenance and repair articles, 100+ Special Reports, many Motorcycle Reviews and more always on the way.

Our Approach

We have partnerships with awesome retailers and manufacturers who kindly supply us with cool new products to test. We’re always talking to them about getting the latest information on motorcycle products, quizzing them about new things in the pipeline, generally annoying them with emails and cornering them at trade shows. That’s how we ensure we’re getting you the latest and greatest information and ensuring we can also get good gear to review for you guys.

wBW reviews are 100% independent and no matter who gives the helmet, jacket or gloves we guarantee that we will always tell you the good, bad and in between. We will tell you what we like and what don’t like. It is important to note that our reviews are comprehensive and detailed.

A typical review takes four to six weeks and is a real world, hands on process, tested by real riders our on the road. We typically include short running to the shop rides, long days of riding for hours on end, sound tests, drop tests and much more.

Bull-it Ladies Sidewinder and Italian Boot Cut SR6 Jeans The Bull-it Ladies Sidewinder and Italian Boot Cut jeans are the most protective, soft-to-the-touch, simple styling jean I have seen. Sizing may be an issue, however. Abrasion-resistant motorcycle jeans are certainly nothing new but there are fewer options available for women riders. There are lot of …

SHAD Seat for the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS We reported on the SHAD seat for the new Suzuki V-Strom 1000 in February 2015 and the first available seat arrived from the factory in March and I’ve been riding with it ever since…weather permitting! While SHAD may be best known for their motorcycle luggage, they also make …

Slip-on Light Covers for the Darla and Erica Lights The Clearwater Lights slip-on clear and amber lens covers fit the Clearwater Krista lights (review), the Clearwater Erica lights (review),the Clearwater Glenda lights (review) and the Clearwater Darla lights (review). They provide added protection, an alternate output option for inclement weather and…peace of mind. The strong rubber slip-on housings include easily-inserted …

Your Ticket to Ride the BMW CAN Bus The mystery of adding LED lights to a modern BMW with CAN Bus (Controller Area Network) electrical system is easy to resolve. The “smart” CAN Bus smells a rat when you pop in an LED brake light or turn signal. The LED will work, but you’ll get …

No Liner Needed for Cold and Wet Weather If you’re looking for high-quality, full-featured motorcycle gloves for cold and wet weather, I have a pair for your consideration. The Knox Zero 2 gloves — revised and renamed from an earlier version — are windproof, waterproof, insulated and protective. And they still provide a good amount of dexterity …

Small Size, Big Features Simple is good (or better) and the new Sena 3S is that for sure. Remember “Murder, My Sweet”? Moose Malloy would say that the 3S is “cute as lace pants”. The Moose is right, of course. But he’s always right. Who’s going to argue with him? The cuteness factor is a …

The 2015 Update to a Dual-Sport Classic The Arai XD4 for 2015 includes some new features inside and outside that make it a winner in virtually every category. As a long-time user of Arai helmets (typically theCorsair (review) and XD models), the 2015 version of the Arai XD4 in Flare Sand Frost is the third XD …

Carbon Fiber Street/Dual Sport/Off-Road Helmet The new Touratech Aventuro Carbon dual-sport modular (convertible) helmet is also what we call a true modular. That’s using the webBikeWorld definition of the word, because it easily converts to a full-face or off-road helmet that can be used with goggles. Touratech is known for their luggage and accessories and …

Fitting the Kaoko KBB300, KBB220, KBB210 or KBB200 I never thought we’d end up with three separate reviews covering the Kaoko throttle control — or cruise control, as it’s called by the manufacturer. (Actually, I’d call a true cruise control as a device that automatically adjusts to keep the speed constant; the Kaoko doesn’t do …

Hand Guards for Everyone The Barkbusters Storm hand guards are ultra-popular and made to fit a huge number of motorcycles. In fact, Barkbusters makes hand guards of all types for virtually any motorcycle made. Example: Twisted Throttle lists 51 different Barkbusters hand guards in their catalog! The mounting kit was surprisingly easy to install on theSuzuki V-Strom …

The Dainese Modular Ventilation System Continued The Dainese D-Explorer pants are the perfect match for the Dainese D-Explorer jacket (review). As with the Dainese Teren pants (review), these would also make an excellent choice for all-season use with other types and brands of jackets. The pants have the unique Dainese “Modular Flap System” with a two-level adjustable …

Master the Elements With the REV’IT! Dominator GTX The brand-new REV’IT! Dominator GTX is the Netherlands-based company’s highest-spec jacket yet. While other top-of-the-line REV’IT! jackets are aimed at the 80/20 touring/adventure market, the Dominator GTX flips the ratio. That means the Dominator GTX is designed to compete with the likes of the Rukka Armaxis (review) and others in price …

Fabric Multi-Fit Hand Guards Help to Fight the Cold Winter Winds The Barkbusters “Blizzard” fabric hand guards are like XXL-sized buddies to help to block cold winter air. These windstoppers can be fitted to 240+ different motorcycle makes and models of all types. Here’s the Barkbusters Blizzard BBZ application chart (.pdf); chances are your bike is on …

The Perfect All-Season 3/4-Length Adventure Touring Jacket? Just when you thought that every possible iteration of the classic 3/4-length motorcycle jacket had been done, along comes the Dainese D-Explorer. This may just well be the “perfect” all-season, all-around, touring, dual-sporting and adventure-touring outfit you’ll find. Or should we append a “yet” to that sentence? If it …

Bull-it SR6 Jeans With Covec Lining The Bull-it jeans are now distributed and sold in the U.S.A. Bull-it jeans feature the special Covec Ltd. abrasion-resistant non-melting “Technical Textiles” liners The jeans are claimed to be tested to meet CE Level 1 for the SR6 jeans. This makes them one of the more protective motorcycle jeans …
