Motorcycle Gear & Product Reviews for Over 20 Years

A Focus On Real Reviews

At wBW we focus on motorcycle gear reviews, including reviews of motorcycle parts, tools, motorcycle apparel, protective gear, electronics and more. We have been reviewing motorcycle products for over 20 years and are the most reliable source of unbiased advice on which products to buy. This is the main index for webBikeWorld motorcycle product reviews.

With over 2,000 motorcycle accessory, clothing and product reviews online and over 5,000 pages in the site in total, it’s hard to keep everything categorized, so please use the webBikeWorld search function if you have trouble. There are also 170+ book reviews, 300+ helmet reviews, 35 video reviews, 120+ technical, maintenance and repair articles, 100+ Special Reports, many Motorcycle Reviews and more always on the way.

Our Approach

We have partnerships with awesome retailers and manufacturers who kindly supply us with cool new products to test. We’re always talking to them about getting the latest information on motorcycle products, quizzing them about new things in the pipeline, generally annoying them with emails and cornering them at trade shows. That’s how we ensure we’re getting you the latest and greatest information and ensuring we can also get good gear to review for you guys.

wBW reviews are 100% independent and no matter who gives the helmet, jacket or gloves we guarantee that we will always tell you the good, bad and in between. We will tell you what we like and what don’t like. It is important to note that our reviews are comprehensive and detailed.

A typical review takes four to six weeks and is a real world, hands on process, tested by real riders our on the road. We typically include short running to the shop rides, long days of riding for hours on end, sound tests, drop tests and much more.

Night Vision Visor for Motorcycle Helmets A new night vision motorcycle helmet visor technology may end up being a real game-changer for those who ride in the dark. This Scotopia Technologies unit we’re reviewing is a pre-production sample. However, it proves the concept of adding night vision capabilities to a motorcycle helmet. It’s the first …

Street Sharp Shirt-Jac With A Wisp of Protection The REV’IT! Westport overshirt is what we used to call a “shirt-jac”, or shirt jacket. You might call this an 80/20 combo of street wear with a touch of protection. The outer shell is a fairly hefty 11 oz. Cordura denim with what feels like (but isn’t) a …

Tales of Battery Tenders New and Old This is kind of an off-the-wall story about a special Costco Battery Tender. It’s the only 3A Battery Tender Plus charger and maintainer in the Deltran lineup. This one has a Costco special part number of 022-0202-COS-WH. (The “COS” is the Deltran Costco designator.) It works with either …

7Eye “PanHead” and “Rake” Photochromic Sunglasses It was 10 years ago when the 7Eye men’s and women’s motorcycle sunglasses were reviewed on webBikeWorld. That’s a long time by anyone’s standards! Frankly, we were surprised to learn that not only is 7Eye still in business, they’re going strong. Back then, the company was called Panoptx. That name is …

HJC’s Helmet Building Talents Applied to Update to HJC’s Best Helmet. Did They Improve An Already Outstanding Helmet? Read On. The HJC RPHA 11 Pro is the update to the popular RPHA 10 Pro. RPHA helmets are a step above the average HJC product line. They are a showcase for HJC’s helmet building talents, according …

A Clever Expandable Top Case The new SHAD SH58X has a very clever trick. It’s the first hard case top box that can be expanded to a total of 3 different capacities. I don’t think there are any other hard top cases that can do this? At any rate, SHAD has a patent on the …

Pilot Motosport Made A $100.00 Helmet. So, How Good Can A 100-buck Helmet Be? Let’s find out… “You can’t get something for nothing.” It’s a tired saying but one that is hard to argue with. However, it can be surprising how much you can get for seemingly little. Over the years we have reviewed helmets from a …

Is It an Action Cam? The AEE HD50 is kind of a hybrid hand-held action camera that definitely isn’t made for motorcycle use. But, it has the best video quality in this group, about the equal of the GoPro Hero HD (review) or the Drift HD 170 (review). This was a surprise, as we took a complete chance …

Street Chinos for Motorcycling The REV’IT! Alpha RF (“Regular Fit”) chinos are actually motorcycle pants. But you — nor anyone else — would ever know it! Hidden underneath that 10 oz. Cordura stretch denim is the REV’IT! PWR shield cut, tear and abrasion-resistant fabric, double in the knees and seat. Also included are the clever …

The Ohmics MotoBrakeBT Bluetooth Programmable Deceleration and Brake Light The MotoBrakeBT is a “Deceleration Sensing MotoBrakeBT Light With Bluetooth Connectivity”. It’s an evolution of the original Ohmics MotoBrake we reviewed in 2015. While not the only auxiliary deceleration-sensing (dynamic) brake light system on the market at that time, the MotoBrake arguably had the best combination of features, …

Sophomore Charm The HJC DS-X1 is the Korean company’s second dual-sport adventure-touring helmet. That is, if you count the HJC CL-XS (review), released in Europe way back in 2006, and featured in many other dualsport helment reviews. And there may have been more in other markets? While it may seem that HJC may have been ahead …

Hearos Xtreme vs. Mack’s ThermaFit Ear Plugs It’s been a long time since the last webBikeWorld ear plug review. This time, we’re taking a look at the Hearos Xtreme Protection and Mack’s ThermaFit ear plugs, both made in the U.S.A. These are disposable soft foam ear plugs with two very different form factors. It’s a …

The Kriega R25 and R35 Motorcycle Backpacks The Kriega R25 and R35 make a convincing argument for wearing a backpack on a motorcycle. The design moves the weight from the shoulders and places it on the chest and back. Freedom of movement is also a benefit of Kriega’s design, as both backpacks allow movement of …

Forget the Battery Tester. Buy a Multimeter Instead. I found this “Traveller” brand 100 amp battery tester at the local Tractor Supply farm store. They were having a big sale and it was $17.95 and I was on the checkout line so I thought “Why not?” It seemed like a pretty good deal. I wasn’t …

Hangout Street Shoes for Motorcyclists The Sidi Gossip street shoes are comfortable for all-around messing about off the bike. They allow you to fly your motorcyclist colors rather than pay homage to Nike, Adidas, etc. The Gossip shoes aren’t really designed for running, hiking or trekking. They’re for relaxing. And in that regard, they score. …
