Motorcycle Gear & Product Reviews for Over 20 Years

A Focus On Real Reviews

At wBW we focus on motorcycle gear reviews, including reviews of motorcycle parts, tools, motorcycle apparel, protective gear, electronics and more. We have been reviewing motorcycle products for over 20 years and are the most reliable source of unbiased advice on which products to buy. This is the main index for webBikeWorld motorcycle product reviews.

With over 2,000 motorcycle accessory, clothing and product reviews online and over 5,000 pages in the site in total, it’s hard to keep everything categorized, so please use the webBikeWorld search function if you have trouble. There are also 170+ book reviews, 300+ helmet reviews, 35 video reviews, 120+ technical, maintenance and repair articles, 100+ Special Reports, many Motorcycle Reviews and more always on the way.

Our Approach

We have partnerships with awesome retailers and manufacturers who kindly supply us with cool new products to test. We’re always talking to them about getting the latest information on motorcycle products, quizzing them about new things in the pipeline, generally annoying them with emails and cornering them at trade shows. That’s how we ensure we’re getting you the latest and greatest information and ensuring we can also get good gear to review for you guys.

wBW reviews are 100% independent and no matter who gives the helmet, jacket or gloves we guarantee that we will always tell you the good, bad and in between. We will tell you what we like and what don’t like. It is important to note that our reviews are comprehensive and detailed.

A typical review takes four to six weeks and is a real world, hands on process, tested by real riders our on the road. We typically include short running to the shop rides, long days of riding for hours on end, sound tests, drop tests and much more.

Motorcycle Camera Mounts Reviewed The mounts that come with most motorcycle video cameras are semi-useful for mounting the camera to a helmet but not the motorcycle. Suction cup style camera mounts are readily available and they can be used for a sturdier mounting arrangement. These are available under a variety of brand names, including the …

The Budget Adventure Tourer Flatter profile seat looks good and seems well made but doesn’t quite offer the comfort I expected. Read the posts in the various forums and you may end up believing that the original equipment DR650 seat is made from plywood and barbed wire. The general consensus seems to be that the …

Review of Four GT1000 Seats After trying four different seats on the GT1000, I can say that the KonTour “Air Cooled” seat has transformed the GT1000. To me, it’s been well worth every dollar. I am a regular webBikeWorld visitor and the GT1000 bloghas been a great help to me as a GT1000 owner. I’ve purchased …

Butt Buffer For Your Butt The Butt Buffer is an effective cure for “numb butt”. It is easy to install and it can be used on different types of motorcycles. It is much cheaper than a new seat, and if you buy a new bike, you can take it with you. There’s a conspiracy, of …

Triumph has a nice selection of accessories for their line of motorcycles, and I was intrigued by the solo seat that’s available for the Thunderbird Sport. I’ve always been partial to the “cafe racer” look, and here was an opportunity to customize the bike with a factory designed and approved upgrade. I finally broke down and …

Tourmaster Cortech Pants Many features, including double flaps over seams, extra material over knees and seat. Well made and high quality. Can be hot when worn over street pants at temperatures over about 70 degrees F. Best suited for cooler-weather riding. If you’ve got some time to kill with friends while tipping a few on …

Maverick “Sidewinders” Polartec Polar Flannel Lined Jeans Sitting in a Doctor’s office waiting room a couple of days ago, I was struck by how many people were wearing jeans.  I thought jeans were passé, surpassed by baggy chinos, cargo pants and sweats. I guess I’m out of step with the latest fashions yet again… Jeans …

Joe Rocket Steel Jeans vs. Sliders Kevlar Jeans webBikeWorld visitors apparently can’t get enough information on motorcycle jeans! Based on your suggestions, we ordered a pair of Joe Rocket “Steel” jeans and while we were at it, we also ordered a pair of Sliders Kevlar jeans for good measure. We’re not big fans of wearing …

Hein Gericke Cargo Overpants Hein Gericke opened his business in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1970.  The company has grown dramatically since then, becoming what is probably the best known motorcycle clothing brand name in Europe. Although Hein Gericke apparel has been sold in the U.S.A. since 1978, the brand has not been well recognized by American …

Alpinestars Street Cargo Pants Our series on Alpinestars gear for hot weather riding concludes with a look at the Alpinestars Street Cargo Pants, which are sort of a cross between street jeans and mesh motorcycle pants. The Cargo Pants can be purchased one size small, as these were, for wearing solo, but they’re also designed …

Alpinestars Ergo Painter Denim Pants As much as we go on about high-quality leather or textile pants for motorcycle riding, there’s no getting around the popularity of jeans. They’re comfy, they don’t look goofy off-bike and they can help make summer riding more comfortable.   But please – if you have to wear jeans, at …

Alpinestars Air-Flo Pants The timing couldn’t be better — just as the weather here in the Mid-Atlantic has reached its typically brutal hot and humid summer peak, we’ve been taking a look at some of the new mesh clothing items for 2006 from Alpinestars. We covered the Alpinestars T-Stunt 2 mesh jacket a few days ago and …

Posi-Tap Connector Review Posi-Tap and Posi-Lock connectors are an absolute must for electrical work on motorcycles! The Posi-Lock and the new Posi-Tap connectors make life so much easier. They’re waterproof, vibration proof and can be reused. Keep a selection in your bike’s tool kit for emergency connections! Posi-Products (Division of Swenco) has done it again!  Here’s …

Part 1: Clearwater Lights CANopener and the BMW CAN Bus The Clearwater Lights CANopener system is an innovative auxiliary lighting management system like nothing else available. The CANopener is compatible with the BMW R1200GSW, GSAW and RTW (W for water cooled) and the K1600GT+ models. The system provides owners with an integrated programmable system for Clearwater …

A CAN Bus Accessory Connection Manager The HEX ezCAN acts as an interface to easily connect accessories to a motorcycle with a CAN bus system. Accessories such as lights, horns, brake lights and other devices are connected to the four “channels” or output circuits in the ezCAN. The user can then program the output of …
