Motorcycle Gear & Product Reviews for Over 20 Years

A Focus On Real Reviews

At wBW we focus on motorcycle gear reviews, including reviews of motorcycle parts, tools, motorcycle apparel, protective gear, electronics and more. We have been reviewing motorcycle products for over 20 years and are the most reliable source of unbiased advice on which products to buy. This is the main index for webBikeWorld motorcycle product reviews.

With over 2,000 motorcycle accessory, clothing and product reviews online and over 5,000 pages in the site in total, it’s hard to keep everything categorized, so please use the webBikeWorld search function if you have trouble. There are also 170+ book reviews, 300+ helmet reviews, 35 video reviews, 120+ technical, maintenance and repair articles, 100+ Special Reports, many Motorcycle Reviews and more always on the way.

Our Approach

We have partnerships with awesome retailers and manufacturers who kindly supply us with cool new products to test. We’re always talking to them about getting the latest information on motorcycle products, quizzing them about new things in the pipeline, generally annoying them with emails and cornering them at trade shows. That’s how we ensure we’re getting you the latest and greatest information and ensuring we can also get good gear to review for you guys.

wBW reviews are 100% independent and no matter who gives the helmet, jacket or gloves we guarantee that we will always tell you the good, bad and in between. We will tell you what we like and what don’t like. It is important to note that our reviews are comprehensive and detailed.

A typical review takes four to six weeks and is a real world, hands on process, tested by real riders our on the road. We typically include short running to the shop rides, long days of riding for hours on end, sound tests, drop tests and much more.

Pinlock Anti-Fog Visor Insert Review It works and it prevents fogging. The Pinlock anti-fog visor insert is available as do-it-yourself installation kit or from the factory on some types of face shields. Let’s see — we have an anti-fog liquid coating calledFogtech (review). Then there’s an anti-fog wax coating called Cat Crap (review). How about pre-treated …

Mr. Moto’s Excellent Chain Lube The manufacturer claims that it “Cleans as it works. Clings to surfaces. O-ring safe. Increases resistance to wear and pressure. Allows for easy visual inspection. Penetrates.” Claimed features include: “Cleans brake dust, chain lube and ‘road soil’. Can leave on longer for more cleaning power.” [UPDATE: As of April 2007, it …

The Swiss Chain Lube The manufacturer claims that this is an “Extremely high pressure resistant lubricating film. Highly adhesive. Resists fly-off. Water resistant. Thermally stable. Reduces wear and friction”. Claimed features include “X-ring and O-ring tested”. To apply, spray on clean chain, allow to soak in. Our Comments Motorex Chain Lube 622 Strong is one …

Lube Your Chain With “Synthetic Sperm Oil”?! The manufacturer claims that it’s “Clear. Won’t fly off. Best for O-rings. New clear formula with synthetic sperm oil (!).” It’s supposed to be “Specifically formulated not to fly off O-ring chains. Contains Molybdenum Disulfide. Quickly covers the chain links, then thickens. Keeps O-rings moist.” Manufacturer recommends spraying …

Motorex Chain Clean 611 Motorex products are popular in Europe, but distribution in the U.S. is spotty, and the brand may be hard to find at local retailers. Motorex Chain Clean 611 is one of the very few dedicated motorcycle chain cleaning products. The clear Motorex Chain Clean 611 spray has a sort of household …

Sidi Vertigo Boots Editor’s Note:  This is the first installment of a longer-term review report on the Sidi Vertigo boots by Dave Young. Dave will be using the boots during track days this summer and will report back with his thoughts and opinions on these boots, which are probably one of the most popular motorcycle …

Armored Underwear for All-Weather Protection   Summary Padded and armored pants offer protection when worn under jeans or leathers. The Cool Air mesh provides good air flow and are designed for warm weather. Introduction Is there a place for body armor in a world of motorcyclists whose riding gear consists of shorts and a T-shirt? …

Tourmaster Vented Gloves for Summer Although I’m partial to wearing motorcycle racing style gloves with the highest levels of protection, I’m also a realist. I realize that there are some motorcyclists who either wear no gloves at all (very foolish, in my opinion) or who can’t afford or don’t want a $175.00+ pair of high-end gloves. Also, …

Autocom Intercoms My wife Sue had bought a set of Personal Mobile Radios (PMR) with some headphones and microphones for our motorcycles. We had great hopes that we could talk to each other during runs as we quite like each other really and on a long haul, it’s great to keep in contact using both …

Joe Rocket Alter Ego Jacket & Pants Review Is this the Swiss Army Knife of motorcycle clothing? That’s the analogy that kept coming to mind as I peeled away the layers of Joe Rocket’s interesting new Alter Ego outfit. Frequent webBikeWorld visitors will know that we’ve been skeptical about motorcycle clothing that claims to offer …

AMA Ride Guide to America: Favorite Motorcycle Tours in the USA Edited by: Greg Harrison Paperback: 288 pages Publisher: Whitehorse Press (February, 2005) ISBN: 1884313515 I’ve been ambivalent up to now about this type of book; the motorcycle touring book or guide. But now I have used the Moto Maps and the excellent Motorcycle Journeys Through the Appalachians for …

Laminar Lip to Reduce Turbulence? The Laminar Lip redirects air flow over top of windscreen to reduce buffeting and noise. Now maybe it’s just me, but as I get older I seem to be less tolerant of the noise and turbulence that’s created by the air blasting onto my motorcycle helmet. It is both annoying …

Jarow Convertible Motorcycle Helmet NOTE:  This helmet is no longer being manufactured. This review was originally posted as the Jarow Convertible, which was distributed by ProtecQ. We had received many complaints about ProtecQ’s service regarding this helmet. ProtecQ is apparently no longer importing this helmet. Nichols motorcycle supply is now the importer and distributor for Caberg in …

KBC FFR Helmet Review Flip-up motorcycle helmets seem to evolve at about the same rate as the motorcycle foot peg. We keep thinking that the market for flip-up (aka modular) helmets will take off any day now, and we’ll see light weight, quiet flip-up helmets that meet DOT, ECE 22.05 and the Holy Grail for …

Bike Grab Wheel Chock Review The Bike Grab wheel chock is a heavy-duty unit, designed to hold the front wheel of a motorcycle on a trailer. Motorcycles seem to flow in and out of the webBikeWorld garage in an endless stream and in various states of repair. The logistics of transporting all of these bikes …
