Motorcycle Gear & Product Reviews for Over 20 Years

A Focus On Real Reviews

At wBW we focus on motorcycle gear reviews, including reviews of motorcycle parts, tools, motorcycle apparel, protective gear, electronics and more. We have been reviewing motorcycle products for over 20 years and are the most reliable source of unbiased advice on which products to buy. This is the main index for webBikeWorld motorcycle product reviews.

With over 2,000 motorcycle accessory, clothing and product reviews online and over 5,000 pages in the site in total, it’s hard to keep everything categorized, so please use the webBikeWorld search function if you have trouble. There are also 170+ book reviews, 300+ helmet reviews, 35 video reviews, 120+ technical, maintenance and repair articles, 100+ Special Reports, many Motorcycle Reviews and more always on the way.

Our Approach

We have partnerships with awesome retailers and manufacturers who kindly supply us with cool new products to test. We’re always talking to them about getting the latest information on motorcycle products, quizzing them about new things in the pipeline, generally annoying them with emails and cornering them at trade shows. That’s how we ensure we’re getting you the latest and greatest information and ensuring we can also get good gear to review for you guys.

wBW reviews are 100% independent and no matter who gives the helmet, jacket or gloves we guarantee that we will always tell you the good, bad and in between. We will tell you what we like and what don’t like. It is important to note that our reviews are comprehensive and detailed.

A typical review takes four to six weeks and is a real world, hands on process, tested by real riders our on the road. We typically include short running to the shop rides, long days of riding for hours on end, sound tests, drop tests and much more.

REV’IT! “Tempest H2O” Winter Motorcycle Gloves A match for the new REV’IT! Infinity suit with many of the same features. Part 5 of a 9-part series. The REV’IT! Tempest H2O gloves are new for 2009 and they’re loaded with features that just happen to be a perfect match for theREV’IT! Infinity one-piece suit (review). The REV’IT! …

BMG “Thermosport” Winter Motorcycle Gloves Among the warmest of our winter 2008 batch. Comfortable padding on the inside. Double stitching with race-like armor offers potentially better protection than most winter gloves. Aggressive pricing makes these a super bargain. I guess I’ll have to blame it on British Motorcycle Gear (BMG). After all, they sent this …

REV’IT! “Kelvin H2O” Winter Motorcycle Gloves Typical REV’IT! high quality, fit and protective features in a high-end winter glove. Frequent webBikeWorld visitors know about our fondness for REV’IT! gear. The company offers an excellent combination of quality, performance and technology, but unlike some other high-end motorcycle gear manufacturers, REV’IT! products are readily available through a …

Held “Freezer” Gloves Review The Held Freezer gloves feature super-supple leather and a puffy look. They also have a roomy and comfortable interior. The gauntlet is the largest in this comparison, which is definite plus.  The Held Freezer gloves are also waterproof and have excellent quality stitching. webBikeWorld is known for digging up some pretty unique, interesting …

Alpinestars Storm Rider GTX Gore-Tex Winter Motorcycle Gloves Review The Alpinestars Storm Rider GTX gloves provide race glove looks and Alpinestars quality. The interior is also very comfortable. And the gauntlet with zipper is adequately sized. The Storm Rider GTX gloves are also waterproof. The Alpinestars Storm Rider gloves were recommended by several webBikeWorld visitors and other local …

Optimate 4 Battery Charger Review The Optimate 4 has several microprocessor controlled stages that analyze, desulfate and charge motorcycle and automobile batteries. I evaluated and reviewed the Optimate 3 only a few months ago in the warm and fondly remembered month of August (2008). Wouldn’t you know it — just as soon as that review was published, …

The Fulmer M1 Modus “Flamethrower” Combining high-viz orange and retro-reflective white make this the most visible helmet on the planet. It’s a basic flip-up design without frills. But it’s also very solid, making it feel more like a full-face than a flip-up once everything is latched up and ready to go. We’ve often bemoaned the …

The SCHUBERTH of Flip-up Helmets The SCHUBERTH C3 combines light weight and a comfortable fit. It also has the most effective noise control system we have experienced in any flip-up (or full-face, for that matter) helmet. We published a SCHUBERTH C3 “First Look” just three months ago in August of 2008. At that time, SCHUBERTH claimed that …

Clear Shot Motorcycle Helmet Visor Cleaner Very rugged case holds a bottle of lens cleaner solution and two microfiber cleaning towels. I’m not sure if the “perfect” motorcycle helmet visor cleaning kit has been invented.  Ideally, we’d have visors that repelled all of the dirt, bugs and water and would never need cleaning. But that’s …

A Pull-Over Bib Vest With LEDs The Roadgear LED lightweight mesh vest includes separate front and rear LED flexible light tubes. These can provide good visibility in the dark, but not without some issues in execution and construction. I think the visibility thing is catching on with motorcyclists, or at least I’d like to think …

Also: Akuma Aegis Hydrophobic Visor Regular webBikeWorld visitors know that Akuma Helmets, in partnership with Mr. Wizard himself, Kerry Harris, have developed some of the coolest and most interesting helmets and helmet technologies going. For example, they developed the Sunshift photochromic visor (review) a couple of years ago, which we reported on during our review of the Akuma …

Midland BT-2 Bluetooth Motorcycle Intercom Review Bluetooth Primer Without exhausting any related standards or wiki sites, a few simple facts on Bluetooth are offered up. For communication and connection purposes a typical Bluetooth network or connection set is made up of eight devices: the master device and up to seven other active devices. This ad-hoc …

60 Years of MotoGP & the World Motorcycle Championship Author: Michael Scott Hardcover, 256 Pages (2008) Carlton Books, London, 2008 ISBN: 978-1-84732-1343 Coffee table books should, at the very least, be filled with wonderful images. Text usually takes a back seat. I’ve seen a few coffee table books that aren’t lately; big massive books that …

Scottoiler Automatic Chain Oiler A well designed, well tested and well proven product, Scottoiler systems have been extending the life of motorcycle chains for over twenty years. Complete with everything needed, less tools and the requisite skills, the Scottoiler kit is quite straightforward and if the whole installation is understood, simple to execute. Depending on …

Scorpion XDR “Commander” Jacket Review The Scorpion XDR Commander has a feature list as long as your arm. It also has slick styling and an expanded size range all at a reasonable price. This makes the Scorpion XDR Commander a top choice in a 3/4-length jacket. 2008 will go down as the Year of the 3/4-length Jacket. Suddenly, motorcycle …
