Hands On Motorcycle Clothing Reviews for Trusted for Over 20 Years.

Every rider is different and every use case is different so when it comes to finding the perfect motorcycle clothing the goal isn’t trying to find the “best”, it is finding the “right” piece of clothing for your needs. The bad news of course is that with all the options, styles, materials and so on available when shopping for any motorcycle clothing is mind boggling. At webBikeworld we’ve been reviewing motorcycle gear for over twenty years so we know a thing or two about getting it right. Read our reviews on the best gear.

Our review process for testing motorcycle clothing normally takes four to six weeks. We will wear a jacket, pants, helmet or gloves on long rides and short rides (about 10 hours of riding). Back in our testing facility (our garage) we will inspect the construction, materials as well as all the things that matter from a practicality standpoint.

Motorcycle Clothing Product Reviews

Icon “Merc” Gloves A few weeks ago, we published our review of the Marsee “Primatista Gaunto” Race Gloves and I proclaimed them as my new favorite. This was after previously declaring that the Held Ninja was my favorite pair of motorcycle gloves; and the Teknic Violators prior to that. Call me erratic, inconsistent or mercurial, but I call it adaptable. This only …

Low-Voltage Warmth With Chilli The Chilli Heated Vest (or waistcoat) is nicely made. It includes a simple but strong wiring harness and assembly. But the 38 Watt output just doesn’t seem to provide that much heat. It’s available in men’s and women’s specific sizes and the size large weighs 323 g (11.375 oz.). I thought …

Belstaff Trialmaster Jacket This is it, folks – get ’em while you can. It’s the end of the ride for the very famous Belstaff Trialmaster jacket (which is also sometimes erroneously referred to as the Belstaff Trailmaster). We’ve been told that Belstaff has discontinued the manufacture of the Trialmaster waxed cotton jacket and pants and they are …

The EDZ Motorcycle Neck Warmer The EDZ neck warmer is light weight, stretchy and easy to use. It blocks some of the wind and provides light insulation over the neck and chin and keeps the bugs from your neck. The clocks have been set back one hour and the sun is setting earlier. The leaves …

Add Comfort and Protection to the Ride The new Racer “Profile” D3O motorcycle shorts improve riding comfort and add some padding with their integrated D3O protectors and Lycra fabric. Shorts and underwear. These aren’t the types of apparel we often have the opportunity to review here at webBikeWorld, but occasionally it does happen, as you …

Outlast Adaptive Technology for Motorcycle Warmth The Roadgear Adaptive-Tech vest and jacket are soft, comfortable and stylish. They can be worn as liners for motorcycle jackets or off the bike for street wear. Outlast “phase change” material is relatively new to the world of motorcycling. But, our sport provides an ideal environment to evaluate the …

Tourmaster “Advanced” Jacket Review I have a confession to make. With dozens of textile and leather motorcycle jackets, pants and every other type of motorcycle gear on the planet to choose from, my most frequently used article of clothing is an old pair of Tourmaster pants. Those pants were one of the first items reviewed on …

Marsee Motorcycle Race Gloves Thick gloves with lots of protective features and big, double-layered gauntlets. Three cinch straps on the gauntlets. Comfortable. webBikeWorld visitors may recall our recent article on the Held Ninja motorcycle gloves (review). These quickly became my favorites after riding for years with a now beat-up pair of Teknic Violator gloves (review). Well, love is fickle, …

New REV’IT! Cayenne Adventure Jacket The REV’IT! Cayenne jacket is the perfect compliment to the REV’IT!! Ultimate pants (review). It has dual removable liners; one is waterproof and one is an insulating liner. It also includes Knox CE-approved shoulder and elbow armor. Large elastic panels in waist provide adjustment. The outer shell is also mesh lined. …

OSI “CoolGuard” Motorcycle Gloves We must get at least a dozen emails each week from factories in Pakistan, India and other points around the globe with interesting offers of motorcycle gloves, jackets and other apparel. Since we don’t sell any products through webBikeWorld, the offers end up in the email trash bin, but not without some …

Rev’it Airvent Mesh Pants This is Rev’it! month at webBikeWorld — in addition to this review of the new Rev’it! Airvent mesh motorcycle pants, we’re in the process of evaluating the new Rev’it! Cayenne jacket, Ultimate pants, Ultimate gloves and their new Fusion boots. I got a quick overview of these new Rev’it! products during …

BikeSeen Fluorescent Blouson Over-Jacket Next time you see an advertisement for a motorcycle rain suit, check out the color. Chances are it will be black or some dark shade of green or gray. This has always been a source of amazement to me. Because if I’m riding in the rain (an admittedly rare occurrence if …

Olympia Moto Sports Recon Transformer Jacket & Pants Let’s see — we have riding outfits specifically designed for hot weather and for cold weather.  Then we have leather outfits for track days. Dirt riding?  Back road scratching?  Cruising?  Rain? Yep, got ’em all covered with separate ensembles. I’ve long ago given up on finding the …

The Most Popular Held Motorcycle Gloves? Before the days of communication at the speed of light, news about motorcycle gear would travel around the world on the heads, backs and hands of owners returning from Europe. SCHUBERTH helmets, Hein Gericke leathers and Belstaff clothing are now ubiquitous brands that were once rarely seen outside what …

Joe Rocket Blaster 2.0 Jacket Review The Joe Rocket Blaster perforated leather jacket is relatively inexpensive. It also mates to all current Joe Rocket pants. But the loose sleeve cuff zippers don’t stay put and the leather feels a bit stiff. It’s comfortable and flows lots of air, so it’s a good replacement for a …

We have reviewed dozens and dozens of clothing brands over the years at WBW so we know a thing or two about which brands our editors love. We also see the analytics on the site too so we know which brands get the most views and attention from our readers. Between consumer interest, our editor’s opinions and generally who we think is really innovating in the clothing and gear space, here are the most popular brands at the moment.

Alpinestars

Alpinestars

alpinestars logo

Alpinestars makes technical, high performance protective gear for Motorcycle, Motocross, and Auto Racing and more recently for action sports like Adventure/Touring, Mountain Biking and Cycling.

It all started in 1963 when a leather craftsman by the name of Sante Mazzarolo began creating the first Alpinestars branded products. At that time a new sport called motocross was establishing itself.

Alpinestars makes a massive range of motorcycle clothing. There’s a reason Alpinestars tops our list in a lot of categories and their R&D and constant innovation plus reasonable prices and great quality are hard to beat.

Joe Rocket

Joe Rocket Jacket

Joe Rocket is affordable and great quality for the price point. Their clothing is a fraction of what you can pay for the same look and feel elsewhere.

While there are a lot of copycat brands out there you can’t say that about Joe Rocket with their signature cool looking clothing and gear. We love their leather classic jackets the most, perfect for the cafe racer in you.

Dainese

dainese motorcycle jackets

“Dainese uses innovation and new technology to create protective gear and clothing for motorcycle, bike, equestrian and winter sports” according to the Dainese official website.

Started in 1972 the team there makes not only motorcycle boots but all types of other protective gear (back protectors, gloves, airbags and more). A very focused R&D outfit, Dainese was the first to develop a super cool instant-deployment airbag suit and jacket system – it basically blows up like an inflatable balloon to protect you in a crash.

Combine the basics and amazing looks and it is hard to look further than Dainese when buying quality gear.

Makers of Helmets, Jackets, Gloves, Pants, Footwear the team at Icon is one of the largest street based protective motorcycle apparel brands in the world.

Founded in 2002, ICON exploded onto the scene with unabashed attitude – maybe that’s why we love them so much. They focus on the modern performance rider who rides in the real world of messed up roads. Their core mission is “protecting riders whenever and however we can, knowing that reckoning day is coming for all of us”.

With a broad set of colors, styles, fits, and functionalities, Icon are among the most popular brands in the business. The relative upstart (in motorcycle gear years) knows how to create cool looking gear.

REVIT

Revit Motorcycle Jackets

REV'IT Logo

With a focus on innovation and well designed motorcycle clothing, REV’IT knows how to make cool clothing and gear.

We’ve often described REV’IT as a company that “gets it”. Their focus on motorcycle gloves shows they know riders really well.  We love for example that most of the gloves are constructed with seasonality in mind, which most riders know make a huge difference.

We love that REVIT makes a wide range of jackets for both men and women. Available at a broad range of price points it is not hard to find a REVIT motorcycle jacket for every riding style, budget and body type out there.
