IXS Swiss Motorcycle Fashion Coming to the U.S.A.
October 21, 2014 – In what could be one of the most interesting reveals at the 2014 AIMExpo show, IXS Motorcycle Fashion announced its U.S. introduction.
The IXS brand is owned by Hostettler AG, a large Swiss-based, 100-year-old family-owned company.
Hostettler AG is the Yamaha importer for Switzerland and the company is also involved in the bicycle and auto industries.
Although the IXS name might not be familiar to American motorcyclists, the company is an ongoing worldwide concern with sales and distribution in over 50 countries.
IXS motorcycle clothing is popular in Europe and known for its wide range of products with an emphasis on value.
IXS has its own design and engineering and logistics and distribution systems and controls its worldwide factories.
IXS in the U.S.A.
The big news is that IXS is making a major investment in the U.S.A.
The IXS display at the AIMExpo show was impressive for its range of motorcycle gear, which includes everything from boots and gloves, textiles and custom-fit leather suits to helmets, accessories, an urban lineup and high-end Gore-Tex products.
The company has opened its own import and distribution center in the U.S.
The initial product offerings include everything from leather one-piece race suits to 48 different textile jackets with matching pants and high-end techwear with Gore-Tex membranes.
Also, an urban clothing lineup, jeans, rain gear, back protectors, base layers, gloves and more for men and women.
Some of the IXS textile 3/4-length jackets on display at the AIMExpo show were innovative and had very reasonable list prices.
This is an interesting development and we’ll be sure to follow-up with more information and detailed product reviews of IXS gear. In the meantime, you can visit the IXS USA website for more information.

From “I.C.” (October 2014): “Lucky for us in Scotland, IXS has been on sale for a while now.
I have the Madox boot shown in your review of their lineup. After two years of regular use and a crash it still looks good and despite many a soaking it has not leaked.
The same is true of their Antaris Gore-Tex glove. It is also very warm and I like that it is a gauntlet with a elasticated tie so it can go over the jacket sleeve and not let water in.
I also have the City Jacket in beige, which despite the full armour, passes as a normal jacket. It is not Gore-Tex, but it is the only jacket I have which has waterproof outer pockets!
I would rate IXS as the best motorcycle gear for quality with a reasonable price of any maker I have used.”
