Fulmer Helmets Merges With Texport Clothing

Fulmer Helmets Adds Texport Clothing

Fulmer Helmets, a motorcycle helmet manufacturer with over 40 years of experience in the motorcycle industry, has merged operations with newly acquired Texport, a Plymouth, Massachusetts-based motorcycle apparel brand.

Arthur Fulmer III, president of the helmet company, sees the merger as a cause to celebrate. “We are bringing together two highly complementary accessory brands  which will be a benefit for our dealers”.

“But more than that, we’re adding considerable industry experience to our management team,” said Fulmer, pointing out that Texport apparel program manager Jamie Goodson brings 35 years worth of motorcycle apparel experience to the table.

Goodson, who previously founded Vanson Leathers with partner Mike Van der Sleesen in 1975 and Protech Leather Apparel in 1983, started Texport in 2006.

Goodson sees the combined brands as a smart strategic move, noting, “Fulmer gives us the national distribution we needed, with all their warehouses and 36 reps in the field. Texport gives Fulmer a complete apparel line, with motorcycle, ATV and snow clothing, to complement their top selling helmet line.”

“Feedback from the field has been positive,” adds Fulmer. “Our helmet reps have already been introducing Texport to dealers. We’re encouraged by the enthusiastic response. And the orders.

” Professional riders are sponsored by both Fulmer and Texport include Big D Cycle’s Ryan Ambrose and AMA Pro Flat Track racer #13 Dan Gedeon.

Fulmer also sponsors three-time AMA Arenacross champion team TUFF Racing, including riders Josh Demuth, Jeff Gibson, Chad Johnson and Danny Smith.

Fulmer and Texport share a reputation for strong independent dealer support and each maintains a strict no-internet sales policy.

Fulmer Helmets was established in 1969. Texport USA “believes in one thing:  Giving more value for a lower price” according to the company.

“More features, better quality, better design, American sizing, and the best fit and finish in the industry — all with outstanding margins for our dealers. We have no distributors or middlemen to drive up cost, and we keep our overhead low. We don’t spend a fortune on promotions. But we do offer a complete line of quality motorcycle apparel at a very attractive retail price”.
