Inspired by Past Dakar Rally
Dainese has a new collection of gear that’s inspired by the Dakar Rally’s history. The collection seeks to honor an idolize the original heroes of the Paris-Dakar rallies of old. The collection has undeniable retro-inspiration, but it’s blended with modern style and modern materials and technology. I’d venture to say it’s one of the best looks for anyone who’s an avid dual sport rider.
The collection features boots, gloves, pants, t-shirts, bags, belts, vests, and more. The jackets are the most eye-catching. I was immediately drawn to the Kidal Leather Jacket and the Alger Nomad Jacket. These jackets look like they were torn straight from the pages of the Dakar Rallies history books. All they need is some sandy grime all over them and an equally grizzled rider.
Prices for the gear varies from about $40 for the shirts and up to $650 for the big ticket jackets. While these pieces of gear will make a great fashion statement, they’re not without top-notch safety and convenience features, including plenty of venting, pockets, and CE-approved armor. You can check out the whole collection here.
