The 2020 global COVID-19 pandemic couldn’t stop the 2020 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and 2021 ain’t going to either. The 2021 Sturgis Rally will take place between August 6th and the 15th of 2021, pandemic or not.

Rod Woodruff, CEO of the Buffalo Chip said: “We know from last year that outdoor events can be safely held when proper precautions are taken

“The majority of people act respectfully and practice social distancing when they are expected to act responsibly. Plus, we feel good about the highly effective vaccines coming soon to market.”

Local organizers have reassured the public that proper precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of the townspeople, as well as the high influx of visitors. Campgrounds have even gone above and beyond to secure as much square footage as possible to keep everyone distanced accordingly.

The legendary motorcycle meet has seen 80 years in succession without a hitch, and you can bet your bottom dollar they won’t let the 81st year go to waste.

After last year’s meet, a study attempted to link over 250,000 new cases of COVID-19 to the event with very few deaths. Let’s hope with proper precautions the event can stave off some of the numbers and learn from last year’s mistakes.

See y’all at Sturgis!
