The Legend Evolves: The 2021 Triumph Thruxton RS
Contents
The Triumph Thruxton RS is the ultimate evolution of the already successful Thruxton range. It’s arguably one of the most exciting models in the 2021 Triumph line-up, oozing charisma, and built on top of decades of Triumph racing history. It’s a British-made café racer with a heritage spirit that has been infused with modern technology.
Like many other modern classic Triumph motorcycles, the Thruxton RS draws power from a 1200cc parallel twin Bonneville engine. Thanks to a different engine tune, the Thruxton RS is more powerful than the rest of the range, with 103 horsepower and 83 lb-ft of torque on tap.
While it shares 99% of its DNA with the other Thruxton models, the Thruxton RS features a selection of top-shelf parts and exquisite aesthetic touches. The most significant of these include blacked-out hardware, black Öhlins RSU springs, anodized rims, a sculpted gas tank, clip-on handlebars, Daytona footpegs, and a stainless steel exhaust system. However, these are just some of the many exciting features found on this premium café racer.
For 2021, the Thruxton 1200 is available in two color options: Jet Black, or Matte Storm Grey and Silver Ice.
The 2021 Triumph Thruxton RS starts from $16,200 USD / $17,400 CAD.

2021 Triumph Thruxton RS Features
THRUXTON RS AUTHENTICITY
The original Triumph Bonneville T120 Thruxton racer played a major part in the history of motorsports on both sides of the Atlantic when the first incarnation of this incredible motorcycle and engine was a dominating force from the late 1950s (literally making its name following the first-ever Thruxton 500 series race win) to the 1969 Isle of Man TT, where it was the first production motorcycle to average over 100 mph.
In the meantime, an entire generation of 60s teenage cafe racers made the Bonneville T120 Thruxton their bike of choice due to its uncompromising – and thrilling – combination of traffic light race-winning performance and style.
The original cafe racer Thruxton rejoined the Triumph lineup in 2004 and was transformed for modern performance and handling in 2016.
This new Thruxton RS takes the most authentic cafe racer of them all to a whole new level, with significantly enhanced performance and specification. This is Triumph’s legend, evolved.
THRUXTON RS TODAY
Thruxton riders love the purity, authenticity and focused sporting attitude of our original cafe racer, together with all the performance and advanced capability of a Triumph Modern Classic.
Totally unique and with an unmistakable racer attitude, this new RS version takes all the hallmarks and quality of the celebrated Thruxton R, and dials it up with more power (now 104 HP), better handling thanks to its lighter weight and higher specification equipment, along with even more contemporary style.
It’s much more than just the original cafe racer; it’s the most dynamic, powerful and performance-orientated Thruxton ever made.
THRUXTON RS STYLE
The new Thruxton RS has a beautiful, unique fully blacked-out look with detailing and finishes that include black powder-coated engine covers, cam cover finishes, black Öhlins RSU springs, black Thruxton side panel and sprocket cover with integrated heel guard, and premium black anodized wheel rims to really enhance the bike’s presence.
A host of beautiful features add to this stunning bike’s poise and reflects the Thruxton RS’s class-leading cafe racer status: from the unique brushed ‘Monza’ style cap with authentic clip-top low profile design, to the sculpted Thruxton tank with brushed stainless steel tank strap and new Triumph triangle tank decal, to the clear anodized aluminum swingarm, Daytona footpegs and clip-on handlebars.
Further enhancing the Thruxton RS’s cafe racer focus, a single bullet seat and attractive body-colored seat cowl are fitted as standard. Premium styling continues with black mirrors and indicators, brushed stainless steel exhaust, twin ride-by-wire throttle bodies with unique Thruxton intake finisher, and a distinctive red signature key. And finally, the Thruxton RS is available in two premium color options: Jet Black, and Matte Storm Grey & Matte Silver Ice.
