Heritage Scrambling: The 2021 BMW R NineT Scrambler
Contents
BMW’s classic factory-made scrambler is back for 2021. While the R nineT’s road models are some of the best-looking retro motorcycles on the market, the R nineT Scrambler is the jewel in the crown of the 2021 BMW line-up. It’s a fierce European-made scrambler, and while it may lean toward form over function, the R nineT Scrambler is a versatile motorcycle that can perform both on and off-road.
It won’t be the most formidable off-road machine, but thanks to the addition of a 19” front wheel, an elevated exhaust system, and telescopic forks, light trail riding is more than possible. Despite the off-road styling, the Scrambler’s 1,170cc air/oil-cooled, 4-stroke flat twin engine is geared more towards road riding, producing 109 horsepower, 86 lb-ft of torque, and speeds in excess of 125 mph.
Naturally, the R nineT Scrambler features a number of exciting features as standard. The most exciting of these include ABS, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), adjustable rear suspension, cast aluminum wheels, a steering damper, and a steel fuel tank. However, there are plenty of BMW Motorrad extras to choose from, such as spoked wheels, off-road tires, and billet accessories.
For 2021, the R nineT Scrambler is available in three color options: Stereo Metallic Matte; Option 719 Black Storm Metallic / Aurum; and Option 719 Black Storm Metallic/Light White.
The 2021 BMW R NineT Scrambler starts at $12,995 USD / $14,900 CAD.
