2020 Kawasaki ZX10R and ZX10R KRT Edition

The 2020 Kawasaki ZX10R is the latest evolution of a long running model series that started 15 years ago in 2004. Through 8 evolutions, the ZX10R now boasts a 998cc DOHC inline 4 producing 197 crank HP and 84 lbs-ft of crank torque, allowing the motorcycle to reach 60 MPH in a stunning 2.8 seconds.

The ZX10R comes in two variations for the 2020 model year, although the bike underneath remains the same with ABS, a multifunction LCD display, Kawasaki Quick Shifter, Kawasaki Launch Control, variable mode traction control, horizontally mounted rear suspension, and Kawasaki’s cornering management function to help prevent lowsides and highsides if at all possible. The only difference between the variations is that there is a KRT edition that is based on the paint and decals used by the Kawasaki Racing Team in World SBK competition.

The 2020 Kawasaki ZX10R starts at $16,099 US/$18,599 CA and the 2020 Kawasaki ZX10R KRT Edition starts at $16,399 US/$18,899 CA

My ’05 ZX10 still remains the best bike I’ve ever owned. Perfect fuel injection, spectacular handling, surprisingly comfortable, incredibly quick and cheap at the time. I’m sure 15 yrs has made for an excellent upgrade! @65 I doubt I could even begin to actually use what it has to offer now!

MTman no question those 2005 year ZX10 bikes are rockets!

The speed and acceleration increase in the 2021 would be small as you say and yes very few people can actually use these machines to their full potential.

I guess the only reason for you to consider the new one would be ease of use. I ride a 2018 H2SX SE and the electronics on it make the bike easier to ride for average riders like myself. It narrows the gap between an elite rider and an average one by making you look better than you are with things like launch control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, traction control and adjustable engine braking to name a few. It’s blown my mind just how awesome the H2 has been for me.
      Cheers.

    Hi everyone!

Sold my Gsxr1000K7 at the very beginning of 2016… The ZX10R took my attention since 2011 when I first saw it on a Kawasaki reseller, where I made my bike maintenance… My inner voice always told me: If I’d have to change one day, it will be a ZX10R! Here we are, end of 2020, bought one of only two available last ZX10Rs KRT models… Why not the 2021? I don’t really like the new model shapes, and it’s increasingly more expensive!
The 2020 model will for sure have all my attention, now… let’s wait end of winter, and HIT THE ROAD with that green ground-ground-missile!
