The 2020 Yamaha Bolt fills an interesting niche in the motorcycle market, that of the lightweight sports heritage bobber with modern amenities. The centerpiece of the Bolt is the 942cc 60 degree V-twin, and while Yamaha remains tight-lipped about actual horsepower, it’s been estimated that this engine pushes out near-as-makes-no-difference 65 crank HP with a rumored 55 lbs-ft of torque, all of it coming in at under 3,000 RPM.

The Bolt also features a belt drive instead of a chain or shaft, something that is usually reserved for the custom market. It definitely adds to the retro-modern feel of the motorcycle. One of the modern touches of that is that instead of having forwards mounted pegs, Yamaha has decided to move the footpegs back along the frame, allowing for the rider to experience less torso fatigue vs a regular cruiser/bobber peg placement.
