2020 Yamaha Tracer 900

The 2020 Yamaha Tracer 900 is a fun and lively sport touring motorcycle that came about in 2015 by pretty much picking and choosing the best bits from other models. The Tracer 900 uses the engine from the MT-09 sportsbike, the dependable, 847 cc inline 3 that pushes out 115 crank HP. The 900 uses a dash that could be lifted straight from an FJR1300A, while the 900GT uses a full-color display that takes the best bits from the YZF-R1.

While both models use the same frame, engine, body design, and electronic control units, the 900GT includes hard side mount cases, cruise control, Yamaha QuickShift (lifted straight from the R and MT models), heated grips, and adds some partial suspension adjustability to both the front forks and the rear shock.

The 2020 Yamaha Tracer 900 starts at $10,699 US/$11,999 CA, and the 2020 Tracer 900GT starts at $12,999 US/$14,599 CA.

Thank you yamaha finally a bike I can have fun with. Its ok to have a bike lift the front end once in a while. The last great bike I could do that with was a 2001 FZ1. Had 7 bikes to try to come close but couldn’t. Everything from a Honda valkery to a gsxs 1000. I even started to look at the used fz1 2001 -2005. But when I got on the tracer now that is what Im talking about. I had a Tiger 1050 triple. Alright bike but not the wheel lift I expect. I test drove A MT 10 power yes comfort no. Not like my old fz1 . beside the gas milage sucks. too much sport not alot of comfort. Reminded me of the 2007 fz1. again no wheel lift and no comfort. The tracer lite and nimble, I thought it would not have the power of the liter bikes I had but I was pleasantly surprised. If I wanted sport bike I would look at the R1. Take that back to engineering. A lot of people want more comfort and lite feel. And not go to the gas station every 100 miles or less.

Great bike! I was running a Honda VFR800 (6th Gen) to tour on previously but wanted to be in a more upright position. This bike was the perfect transition. Sporty feel but one that I could tour on all day. My only gripe is the size of the panniers, i wish they were larger. I can get by on a 6 day ride but it leaves no room for anything else.

A very underrated gem of a bike. The engine is a solid 10/10, lots of character, I never tire of rapping it out. Have had a tracer 900 GT for a year now and am very pleased with it.
