Bimota Delirio

Thank you to Sergio Robbiano of Robbiano Design for sending these photos and information on the stunning Bimota Delirio!   Sergio is the designer of the Delirio and the Bimota DB5 and many other wonderful projects.

Sergio recently sent this note and a new batch of photos!

“Hello Rick,
We presented the Delirio to the international press (on May 17-19, 2006).  I am sending you an image report of the event.  Everything was perfect and the journalists were really impressed by the bike’s behavior.  I know you will enjoy these images.  Many thanks.”
Sergio Robbiano

Thanks for sending this information Sergio!  I have created a webBikeWorld Slide Show to display the new photos.

The Bimota Delirio
The Delirio is definitely a standout in a world of copycat motorcycle design.  I can’t wait to see it up close, because just looking at the photos left me breathless!  In addition to “stunning”, I’ll add the words outrageous, fantastic, unreal and mind-boggling!

The Delirio is expected to be on sale in the U.S.A. in the summer of 2006.  Bimota USA said that the bike will be fully homologated and street legal, and that the price has not been finalized, but is expected to be in the neighborhood of the DB5 Mille, which has an MSRP of $39,800.00(US).

Also see the Bimota Delirio press release at the bottom of this page.

We’re using a different format on this page to provide you with some larger sized photos.  Also, see the link at the bottom of this page for a bonus photo download!  Enjoy!

Bimota Delirio, The Official Announcement

Bimota is proud to have once more reached an important milestone: The realization of yet another genuine Bimota motorcycle!

Bimota chose to face a rather tough challenge starting the development of their latest model: Surpass Yourself!

This endeavour was not easy after the huge success of the DB5, confirmed by numerous cover pages, awards, and feature articles worldwide.  With the Delirio, Bimota pushes the limits even further.  Is it chaos or just perfect order? Is it fantasy or just a new reality?

In a few words, Bimota are sure that this new model will spark great sensations, emotions, and excitement.  The Delirio personifies Technology Of Emotion in every respect. From its early beginnings, the Delirio project has been conceived as the creation of a piece of art, and as a challenge to all conventions.

Everything created by Bimota to this date has been built to the extreme, emphasizing perfection beyond rationality.  Delirio is a motorcycle that gives new value to the companies rich heritage, and traditions.  The goal has been to realize a Bimota for the future, presenting engineers, designers and everybody involved with an equally exciting and challenging task.  Once again in Bimota’s history, the result has been shaped by passion, imagination, and extraordinary
craftsmanship.

Technology Of Emotion… and the Delirio has the upper hand!

The Delirio has become a reality – from Sergio Robbiano’s pencil to Alberto Strada’s computer to Enrico Borghesan’s golden hands – and the minds, souls, and hands of all at Bimota.  Technical data of the Delirio confirms what is obvious at first sight: Delirio delivers outstanding performance. Engine and framework blend together in perfect harmony.

Performance and handling are complimented by an aggressive but nonetheless comfortable riding position. The first biposto of the new generation.  Delirio is the baddest motorcycle you could possibly meet on the road today!

The staff that contributed to the project of the Delirio are:

  • Designer and clay modelist: Sergio Robbiano-robbianodesign
  • Technical manager: Eng. Alberto Strada-Bimota
  • Project leader: Eng. Davide Galassi
  • Bimota CAD designers: Andrea Acquaviva – Davide Galassi
  • Bimota Chief modellist: Enrico Borghesan
  • Production Manager: Stefano Fabbri- Bimota
