The King of Sportsbikes: The 2021 Suzuki GSX-R1000
Contents
The Suzuki GSX-R1000 is one of the most famous Suzuki motorcycles ever made, and one of the most famous motorcycles of all time! It’s a powerful and recognizable sportsbike with a long and illustrious history. The 2021 Suzuki line-up features a newly updated GSX-R1000—but the updates are few and far between, so don’t get your hopes up too much.
In all honesty, the GSX-R1000 doesn’t really need much of an update at the moment. It already uses a modern and powerful engine, with advanced bodywork, and a host of top-shelf components that make it one of the most competitive Japanese motorcycles on the market. The engine is a 999.8 cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder unit, with 199 horsepower and 87 lb-ft of torque, complemented with variable valve timing technology to deliver a broad spread of power.
Of the top-shelf components, there are many worth mentioning. These include Showa BPF front forks and a Showa rear suspension, modern Brembo brakes, selectable rider modes, traction control, ABS, and a bi-directional quick-shifter. Despite the top-notch tech, the only noticeable update to Suzuki’s flagship sports machine is the addition of a new color scheme.
For 2021, the GSX-R1000 is available exclusively in a Metallic Matte Black No. 2 color scheme.
The 2021 Suzuki GSX-R1000 starts from $15,799 USD / $19,999 CAD.
