BMW’s Urban Adventurer: The 2021 BMW R NineT Urban G/S
Contents
The BMW R nineT Urban G/S is a European-made heritage roadster that takes its inspiration from the legendary R80GS. While it’s easily one of the most eye-catching models in the R nineT range, it’s arguably one of the most exciting models in the entire 2021 BMW line-up. Built on top of the already successful R nineT platform, BMW has added in a little G/S spice to get heads turning.
The heart of the Urban G/S is a 1,170cc air/oil-cooled, 4-stroke flat twin engine. To meet new emissions regulations, the R nineT has had some internal revisions but the results haven’t been drastic. The new specs show the R nineT producing one less HP at 109 horsepower, and the same 86 lb-ft of torque that it had before.
The Urban G/S might look like it’s all talk but it actually comes with plenty of top-notch equipment to ensure that its bite is as strong as its bark. Standard equipment includes ABS Pro, Dynamic Braking Control, selectable riding modes, and a rear shock with travel-dependent damping.
For 2021, the R nineT Urban G/S is available in three original BMW Motorrad color options: Light White Metallic, Opt. 719 Black Storm Metallic / Light White, or Opt. 719 Black Storm Metallic / Aurum.
The 2021 BMW R NineT Urban G/S is expected to start from $12,495 USD / $14,500 CAD.
