If there’s one model in the 2021 BMW line-up that’s designed for touring North America, it’s the K 1600 Grand America. The Grand America is a European-made touring motorcycle from BMW Motorrad. It’s big, bold, powerful, and plush—and it comes packed with everything you need for a great North American road trip.
Like the rest of the K 1600 range, the Grand America draws power from BMW’s mighty 1,649 cc inline six-cylinder engine. It’s a big engine that produces big power, to the tune of 160 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque. That power is delivered to the wheel via a six-speed gearbox and kept in check with a full suite of advanced riding aids. The most notable of these include Dynamic Traction Control, Cruise Control, and ABS Pro.
Other features include a high windscreen, footboards, a Bluetooth-enabled audio system, dynamic ESA, Hill Start Control, Reverse Assist, and a multi-function controller. Riders can also take advantage of ample storage from the side bags and integrated top case, a xenon headlight, and engine protection bars.
For 2021, the K 1600 Grand America is available in three color options: Hockenheim Silver Metallic, Mars Red Metallic, and Black Storm Metallic.
