2020 Triumph Tiger 1200 XR Range & 1200 Alpine Edition
Contents
For 2020, Triumph has released two types of adventure bikes, the 1200 XR range and the 1200 XC range. The XR range is more road focused, aiming to be the ultimate adventure touring bikes that have the ability to go down dirt roads and do some very light off-roading.
All of the XR’s are powered by a 1,215cc DOHC liquid cooled inline triple that produces 141 HP and 90 lbs-ft of torque.
The base 1200 XR has everything you would expect a common sense adventure bike to have. WP high durability forks up front, WP monoshock at the rear. Aluminum spoke wheels. Rider modes for dry, rain, dirt/track, and rider configurable. ABS and traction control.
The 1200 XRx takes everything the XR has, and adds a more responsive map on the ride-by-wire throttle. Inertial stability control also is added on, giving a 6 axis reading to keep your bike upright in hard cornering and braking situations. As well, electronically adjustable WP suspension front and rear is added.
The 1200 XRx Low is the same as the 1200 XRx, but with a seat height at 31 inches instead of 33.5. No other differences.
The 1200 XRt has all of the features of the 1200 XRx, yet uses higher spec materials to drop nearly 25 lbs in weight. It also features the addition of electronic cruise control, dynamic cornering ABS, and clutchless shifting.
The 1200 Alpine Edition of the XR range is the top of the line motorcycle for the road-going adventure rider. It has all of the features of the XRt, but gains a titanium exhaust from Arrow with a carbon fiber silencer end. As well, there is a specific Alpine White color scheme.

How is it possible that the Alpine edition, weighs less, has a better exhaust along with everything that the XRT version has, but comes in cheaper?
Mark, that is a good question.
