2020 Thruxton 1200 RS
Contents
The 2020 Thruxton 1200 RS is a brand new motorcycle for 2020, and an evolution of the Thruxton models of present and past. The RS takes the cafe racer DNA of the Thruxton 1200 R and injects it with memories of the many races it has entered and won, such as the Isle of Man TT, and the Thruxton 500, where the bike got its name.
The Thruxton 1200 RS is powered by a reworked and tuned 1200cc parallel twin, producing 103 HP over the standard models’ 95, with both engines producing 83 lbs-ft of torque.
The styling has been reworked and refined as well, dropping the handlebars lower than on the 1200 R, opening up the twin exhausts wider for both more noise and less back pressure, and flattening out the tank so the rider can tuck all the way down.
The 1200 RS is also lighter than its kin, making it much more agile. It easily flicks between corners, and loves to carve them as it passes through. A modern take on the classic cafe racers of the Bonneville line.
The 2020 Thruxton 1200 RS starts at $16,200 US/$17,400 CDN.
