The All New 2020 Ducati Hypermotard 950 & 950 SP
Contents
Ducati’s new Hypermotard 950 takes its inspiration directly from the early days of motard racing, keeping things simple, streamlined, and sporty. Designed for aggressive handling and supreme agility, the Ducati Hypermotard 950 is all about lightweight fun and non-stop excitement.
The latest iteration of the Hypermotard has had something of a redesign, with a number of interesting upgrades that haven’t watered down the motorcycle’s personality or performance. The most significant change has been the riding position, which now offers more control and presence than ever before.
Wider handlebars, a narrower and slim line side profile, and a revised seat have all been added to the mix to create a more commanding riding position, boosting rider comfort.
Underneath, the Hypermotard is powered by Ducati’s famous 11-degree Testastretta v-twin engine—but even that has seen some improvement. Thanks to some mechanical changes, the Testastretta unit now weighs in 3.3 lbs lighter than the previous version, with even more horsepower than before. Now, the Hypermotard 950 & 950 SP both boast 114 horsepower and 71 lb-ft of peak torque.
All of that power is kept in line using selectable riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, and Bosch cornering ABS. These features are standard on both models. The major difference between the 950 and 950 SP is that the SP features carbon fiber components, forged wheels, and Öhlins suspension rather than Marzocchi.
For 2020, the Hypermotard is available in Ducati Red with prices starting from $13,395. The Hypermotard 950 SP is available in a white and red SP livery, with prices starting from $16,995.
