2020 BMW S1000 R
Contents
The 2020 BMW S 1000 R is a naked sportbike that brings together the BMW S 1000 RR’s characteristics to the naked category. It’s a different animal than the R 1000 RR, but that’s a good thing if the S 1000 RR is a little too track-focused for you.
The model features a 999cc four-cylinder engine that makes 165 hp and 84 lb-ft of torque. It’s essentially the same engine as is in the S 1000 RR. This engine has enough power to put a smile on your face, thrill you on the motorway, and even be competent on the track.
The S 1000 R is at home on the open road, but it’s also a fantastic urban machine. The motorcycle is sporty but still comfortable, and it offers a unique naked sportbike experience. This makes the $13,995 price tag reasonable.
The motorcycle is available in Black Storm Metallic, Racing Red/Black Storm Metallic, and Motorsport.

2020 BMW S 1000 R Features
Ride Modes Pro with ABS Pro, DTC, Launch Control, and pit lane limiter.
With optional Ride Modes Pro, you can extend the technical repertoire of the S 1000 R with ABS Pro and with the additional Dynamic and Dynamic Pro Ride Modes. ABS becomes ABS Pro in the Rain, Road, and Dynamic Ride Modes. Other features that come with this equipment are Launch Control for perfect race starts and the configurable pit lane limiter for exact adherence to speeds in the pit lane. Furthermore, the standard ASC is replaced with the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) with angular rate sensor.
Gear Shift Assist Pro for dynamic shifting.
The optional Gear Shift Assist Pro is a feature known and loved by racers allowing riders to upshift and downshift without actuating the clutch, meaning you always have the handlebars firmly in your grip while reducing shift time. In addition, load change influence on the rear wheel is considerably reduced, leading to better lane retention.
