The 2020 Aprilia RSV4 FW Stable
Contents
Aprilia has been offering Factory Works models to the general public since 2017. Since then, Aprilia Racing has been working with dedicated racers and teams to develop some of the most formidable racing machines that money can buy. These track-only motorcycles are for experienced racers who take their racing seriously. These aren’t simple track day machines for the occasional enthusiast. They’re highly engineered track-destroying weapons. And if you’ve got the dollar, you can own one.
All of Aprilia’s Factory Works models are based on the existing RSV4 RF platform, apart from the top-or-the-range FW-GP, which is built on top of the RSV4 R FW World SBK platform. Each factory model comes with power outputs that start from 204 horsepower, to huge figures of more than 250 horsepower.
The first model is the RSV4 FW-SSTK MM RACE, a race-optimized RSV4 RF with lighter components, a reprogrammed ECU, advanced instrumentation with race telemetry, an electronic gearbox with an assisted downshifter, and a whole host of optional aftermarket race-bred accessories.
Next, there’s the RSV4 FW-SSTK2 AP XRACE—a model developed to Superstock 1000 FIM Cup regulations. Upgrades include a racing electrical system, and new fully programmable APX2 ECU developed by Aprilia Racing, and electronic gearbox with assisted downshift, Aprilia Racing engine mods, and a maximum power output of 204 horsepower.
The RSV4 FW SBK is built for superbike racing participation, conforming to all WSBK rules. Based on the RSV4 RF, the FW SBK model boasts lighter components, a dedicated racing electrical system, an advanced APX2 ECU, the same electronic gearbox functions mentioned above, and special engine tuning for the ultimate track performance. The maximum power is rated at 215 horsepower.
The top of the range race model is the RSV4 FW-GP. This extreme model borrows technology directly from Aprilia’s MotoGP machines, with advanced pneumatic valve timing and a bore of 81 mm. The result is a factory guarantee of over 250 horsepower. For more information than that, you’ve got to talk to Aprilia!
